Dear friends Barb & Louis from CT came in last night - they're closing on their house in Frederick today!

Which means I'm not sure who's house we're working on this weekend - theirs or ours but rest assured - there will be paint involved!

Off to Joanie's tonight to celebrate their closing, Barb's birthday (last week), Louis' birthday (next week), and the GORGEOUS Bailey's & coffee cheese cake that Darling Wife made for the occasion last night . Just may have to polish off the rest of that bottle of Bailey's as well.......

It's dreary here in DC this morning and it looks like it will be so all weekend. I have nothing planned for this weekend except maybe working. I'm looking forward to getting a "Little Brother" next weekend. A friend (unmarried) who has adopted a little boy has mentioned to me that she would like for him to have a father figure in his life and I have offered to start spending some time with him on a regular basis.

My children are all grown and I have been missing the good times we used to have doing things together, so this has come at a perfect time in my life. This little boy has had a very rough life. His adopted mother literally saved his life, but taking him in. He's a great kid and I am looking forward to having a kid to do things with once again.

Thanks, but I wouldn't go THAT far . . . . My motives are a balance of self-ishness and self-lessness. I think it will be fun and, hopefully, he and I will both be better off for it.

I've found that if you put vodka in their Kool Aid, they are much easier to get along with and seem to be more agreeable.

Is that why your dogs are all so well-behaved?

We're into our end of the fiscal year craziness (ends 9/30) so we're into the combination of getting all possible orders filled, delivered and billed before next Wednesday and doing inventory while product is still being sold out of the store. Good times.

School picinic tonight and then CT's 5th Annual Down Syndrome Congress Buddy Walk tomorrow with lots of friends and family walking in honor of my little man, Garrett. It's the CDSC's main fundraising event so hopefully they have a great turnout, looks like the weather will cooperate this year.

And Sunday is our town's 375th Anniversary parade and we're hosting a party since we're right on the parade route. All of the tailgating equipment will be put to good use on the front lawn. I was supposed to march with the Yacht Club (in name only ) but I'm leaning towards partying. The weather looks sketchy in the AM but it's supposed to clear out by noon. There is a rain date for next Sunday but I'm not sure when they'll make the call.

Good for you, Dee. That's awesome! I'd have to imagine that you'd be a pretty decent influence.

20th Anniversary celebration for the local Harley Owners Group Chapter (Cumberland County, Millville NJ) tonight. I spent about 9 years as a primary officer of one sort or another, including two years as Director. (I'll be on 4 wheels, Mistress, not 2. Not to worry.)

Sunday I'll be at the Eagles' game vs Kansas City, watching Mike Vick return to the NFL? (Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought Jeffrey Lurie would take Vick into the Eagles fold. Sure shocked me!)

If you opt for two wheels, i know a good plastic surgeon.....as for Vick, that useless piece of garbage.....and the NFL should never have allowed him back into the game....the NFL has a responsibility to it's fans to recruit good and decent players, non of which Vick is, that waste of molecules.
