It seems a stretch to me to think that all forms of 'to be' appear as Aristotelian essentialism. It'd even go so far as to say that all forms of 'to be' are not examples of Aristotelian essentialism.
'To Be' is a very troubling verb but the trouble is more than verbal. Do we just appear to be or do we really exist? To apply E-Prime gives all the ground to Buddhists before the discussion even begins.
