I know I am not and I don't think he is either. I think we are simply saying that if you don't like it here and think that place is better, why are you still here? As a personal example, I didn't think much of the place I left. I thought the USA was a better place. As such, we made ourselves desirable in the eyes of the USCIS, formerly INS, and moved here. So, all I am saying is that if you feel that Country X is better, why are you still here? Why aren't you making yourself desirable to Country X and moving there? Isn't it like if you were *****ing about how you hated your job, could be doing better if you only moved to the company across the street? Why are you still here? Go there where it is better IF they will have you.

I see that if you think you can do better there, why are you hanging around here *****ing and moaning? If you worked for Best Lies and felt you could make more money and be happier at Short Circuit City, what keeps you on at Best Lies?

Look south of the border. The Mexicans felt they could do better here than in Mexico. What did many of them do? Head for the border and cross it legally but mostly illegally.

Do you fuel your vehicles with gasoline from Substandard Oil?

Lately it has been from Pretty Damn Slow (PDQ) or PeePee (BP) and sometimes Hell (Shell). I also buy pizza from Pizza Slut but the favorite is Dommie's Hos. (Dominos).

Methinks you should stay away from the keyboard. No crees?

Incidentally, I find your fascination with my posts here simply fascinating.

It borders on the homoerotic, but it is fascinating nonetheless

I think I have been known to see eroticism in things that many cannot see. In this case, I must confess to missing the erotic component of the conversation. Maybe Mistress will whip some sense into me.

Actually aklim, if still had my connections in the State Department I would....well, you get my drift.

In my experience Euro-trash is in the habit of lambasting the US, its institutions and its people. But oh dear Lord, give them a chance to move here...

You and I seem to share a similar view regarding the US. I've done very well here, better than I could've done in any other country.

BTW I like your BestBuy vs. CircuitCity analogy. Very funny!

Did you fly on the Belgian airline SABENA (Such A Bad Experience, Never Again)

or the Phillipine one, PAL (Plane Always Late)?

No

Yes. They always ended an announcement with Mabuhay. Don;t know what it means in that country but in Cantonese, it sounds a lot like Magahai which means Mothers Kitty.

Well, Jim, people's standards about cultural refinement are different. If you attest to him, fine, that's between you and him. I'm sorry, I can't say the same thing.

Ownership of Mercedes automobiles doesn't mean didley squat, anyone with a bit extra change can aquire one.

Remarks like these are more than just 'dangerously close' to a slur:

I find it fascinating to see how you try to manage wiggling yourself out of the garbage you create. That's one virtue I certainly give you full credit for. Listo.

Personally, I find this whole 'if you don't like it here, leave' thing pretty boring. But I certainly appreciate your openess on your personal behalf, in order to support your point.
Generally speaking you are very well right, yet we don't walk in other peoples shoes. I consider myself being old enough, so to speak, to know what I want and to know what I like. Meaning, if I wouldn't like it here I wouldn't be here and if I don't like it anywhere else, I either don't go there or if I accidently find myself in a place like that, I won't stay there. Thus provided, the means to make a move are not restricted, if so, I'd have to get innovative.
I have been moving around continously most of my life, I never stay too long in one place. Now since I am approaching 50, it is more like moving around a hub. The time of moving forward, never looking back, even burning bridges at times, seems to have changed or maybe the globe just appears to get smaller as one grows older.
There is no destination to my journey. The journey is the destination.

Something funny here. Your screenname reminds me of the last name of an old school friend, junior high maybe. He was hardly ever in class, infact he mostly only showed up for the tests and sure enough he was a straight A student. Everyone of us was thinking what the heck is going on there!!
As it turned out, after years and graduation, he was home schooling ...

I almost forgot... what most people receive as 'critizing', is just the way I am. A different place wouldn't make a difference, I am still the same person. It also has little to do with 'good or bad'. I don't really live in those parameters. Neither do I live too much in the past or in the future, mentally. Others apparently do. I prefer to live here and now, as much as my conscience allows me to ... this is when time and space become extremely flexible, rather than a fixed reality, which is infact more an illusion of a reality than an actual reality.

To get back to topic, I find this a very refreshing experience, which I accredit most of my good health to.
