I agree we’ve had plenty of tow to town, city to city warfare. I feel that we can find the same issues to some degree or another in all the wars in our history.

I just don’t recall many wars we’ve been in where there were so many suicide bombers, such a lack of “front lines”, friend one day – foe the next, car bombs, untrustworthy local “allies”, and no idea how to call it a victory. I don’t think there is much we can do shy of a making a glass parking lot that would force any of the so called enemy to surrender and put a victorious end to it all.

Pulling out would end it. But we’d leave such a mess (and a continuing civil war) that I’d hardly call it a win.
