Hey Jim, thanks for the advice and thanks for letting me know about the next drive. Do you know where it's going to be?

Yea I definitely agree it's not an upgrade. This 600 is definitely my favorite car. But price is just really a concern and I'm not really into getting something like a toyota or honda or whatever. So my love of chevy's really has me going the route of a corvette. NOt as bad of gas mileage, cheaper fill ups and I can work on it.
I mean the best option would be like a hybrid but I just don't have that kind of money right now to get into something like that.

Boardmonger is working on it, and it will probably start in Woodside, and the route will be probably up Highway one towards Devils slide. As possible alternative may be across the bridge to the East Bay and the pick and pull in Hayward but that is not too likely though Nothing is final as of now.

We took a C4 for trade when I was working at the dealer.
30,000 original miles and perfect condition for $7,000. Not a bad value, but it was a 1984.

I'm just not into the c4 body style at all. I like the older ones 60's/early 70's but dont like the 80';s body style. The first years after that I like are the 97 body styles.

I'd recommend you look at completed auctions of your model on Ebay. That will give you a pretty good idea of what it's worth.
Personally I went the other way, from a Corvette to MB's. As has been said, they're completely different vehicles for different applications. Certainly test drive one before you buy to see if it's really your cup of tea.

That's the thing, there is 0 completed listings or current cars that are a 1992 sel 600. Since I had the car I only found maybe 5 cars on craigslist or ebay ever.
I don't think some people understand how rare the care is, at least when trying to find one being sold or listed? If you guys can find one that was sold please let me know??

I know the car is rare, but I didn't mean you should limit yourself to looking up only your exact model. I'd look at some of the other years too and some of the lower S classes of that era.

I don't know what happened to my last post, so I'll post again. There seem to be lots of people spewing opinions that have never owned a Vette. I had an 02 Z06, bought with 28k miles, sold at 32k miles.
Fuel costs compared to your Benz? Vette wins easily. I averaged 24 in town, and 28 on my one and only trip to NY, doing around 80. Gotta love 6th gear. Insurance? My 04 F350 costs more to insure than the Vette. I posted to do tons of research on Corvette Forum, as did someone else. There are quirks to them all, hopefully they have been fixed. More annoyances than anything. Want to know why Vette owners wave at each other? Because they know they got screwed by GM too... |

That's the same car I had! Except I bought mine new and sold it at about 6K miles. No trouble to report during the one year that I owned it. Of course, great cornering and acceleration, and surprisingly comfortable seats. I remember my mileage was in the mid 20's but back then gas was less than $2 so it was a non-issue.

Very interested especially when you guys talk about the acceleration and gas mileage on your guy's corvettes that you had.
I usually look up 92-94 sel 600's usually come up with nothing, how much higher should I go to gauge a similar value for my car? I know the 92 sel was the only model that came with 408 horsepower the rest I believe were like 385. So I figure thats going to make a difference?

Damn where was he when I bought my sel 600? I remember looking at sel 600's about a year and half ago when I bought mine. And at the time I figured I got a great deal after talking him down from 13,000 dollars. Because of other sel 500's and sel 600's that I seen at the same time which were more then the one I bought.
So have these cars lost that much value in a year and a half?

With gas prices doubling in year? Hell ya.
Dealerships are scared to even take V8's on trade. Just today, an Acura dealership near me took a BMW X5 V8 on trade. It's off to the auction on Wednesday. They won't bother trying to sell it...
