I guess I will just have to see what I can get for my mercedes and that will determine weather I go after a corvette or not.

Ouch is right. I ordinarily wouldn't consider a W140 at any price, but I figure someone would be willing to part with more than $3600 to have a big hoopty in good shape with a V12.

To many miles. If it had 100k fewer miles I bet it would fetch at least twice that.
![]() W140's are great cars but they have always had crummy resale.

Well If I can't get my money back (10,000) then I'm just going to have to hold on to it. I don't understand how it can drop over 7,000 dollars in a year and a half? When I bought mine in october of 06 there were 2 other sel 600's one was 15,000 and the other 13,000, I ended up getting mine for 10,000 thought I got a good deal, especially since sel 500's were going for like 8,000 or 9,000 dollars. SO what gives?
I wish the would of been this cheap when I bought mine I would of bought 2 or 3 of them.

Your not alone, if that helps at all.
My friend had to practically give away his gorgeous BMW 750il with 134k for $3,500. Here's some pictures of her. ![]() ![]() ![]() My 2003 X5 has taken a hit as well. I briefly tried to sell mine and quickly realized I'd be lucky to get 20gs for it. A year and a half ago I could have sold it for around 30. No thanks, I'll keep my 15mpg! ![]()

Having the W210 diesel I can say that it is a nice ride. OTOH, I take the C4 when I get a chance because the fun factor is overwhelming. so no, I am a happier camper in the C4

I was watching the auto auction on TV last night, and a 50th Anniversary '93 Corvette went out the door for 11K. The commentators kept saying that the C4 Corvettes are entry level collector's cars. They are very affordable now, and their value will start to go up.
I'm no big fan of the era's blobby plastic interiors, but it would make for a fun and somewhat practical daily driver.
