the R secretary of state was in the midst of a divorce. At the time of the election he was on the payroll of the local government and wanted to keep being paid for the job he was doing so he falsified his address, using his old address where his ex lived. And voted there.
So he was convicted of voter fraud. Charges of defrauding the county or city govt that was paying him are a possibility. And the R governor (Mitch McDaniel) has decided that he is doing a fine job as secretary and chosen not to remove him from office. ![]()

For a guy who gets all rankled about wiki, you sure seem to accept unsubstantiated websites that agree with your POV.
This pjmedia story has absolutely no reference to where this info came from, just the opening comment "I have learned"... Learned from whom?

Above that, you obviously missed the first line in the story: I have learned that Florida election officials are set to announce that the secretary of state has discovered and purged up to 53,000 dead voters from the voter rolls in Florida. Has Fla announced it yet CMB? ![]() Jumping the gun I'd say. ![]() And who or what says this in my POV? |

Let's assume that every word of that is true. We are still waiting to see evidence of the sort of voter fraud that these voter ID laws are supposed to address. The more evidence people cite of other types of supposed voter fraud, the more it seems that voter ID laws are about disenfranchisement, not election integrity.

How do voters in 'vote-by-mail' prove their eligibility? I'm guess with some sort of ID, but perhaps there's something else?

My goodness, I didn't think that people would commit voter fraud. That's you, illegal.
What can be done to reduce the probability of fraudulent voting? |

I was unclear. What I attempted to say is that the voter ID laws that are supposedly intended to prevent people from impersonating other voters at the polls on election day would do nothing to address the situation discussed in the article posted by Dudesky. I agree that some sort of documentation should be required before being permitted to vote by mail.

After reading the Fox article, there is no mention of how many of these dead people have actually recorded a vote. Their names have just not been removed from the rolls. Pretty lousy data base management, but does not seem like a case of voter fraud.

Absolutely nothing, I'm sure that out of 53,000 registered dead voters in Florida, not one never ever voted in an election.

Did anyone ever show up on election day and cast a vote in the name of any of those dead voters? It should be easy to check that.
