The only flaw in that plan is that unpaid student loans are deducted from Social Security payments.

I disagree, their were leaders back than.

A certain percentage always rises to the top.

I didn't write that there weren't leaders.

No you didn't but someone has to be in charge.

Money = power in our culture. In others the equation is slightly different, but not very. In a hunter gather culture access to a rich food source = power.

I also don't buy into the whole church thing, look at the Romans, Japan and China.

They didn't need the church to develop a fantastic culture.

Japan perplexed many westerners because they found a society that in some areas was more advanced than theirs and their God was no where to be found.

A certain percentage of a population will always rise to the top. Be it accumulating money which is what is valued in a capitalistic society, or power, whatever. Some people are very good at accumulating whatever their society values, and others are not.

Their are very good reasons why today the G20 countries along with the IMF and NATO, essentially rule the world and everyone else is along for the ride.

Money and power are different things. Rising to the top in a group of 150 is very different from rising to the top in a group of 15,000. Rome, Japan and China in their classical ages weren't capitalist. There are certainly reasons why countries rise to the top. Whether they're good or not is another question entirely. I don't think I mentioned God in my earlier argument (as far as I recall). I brought up the focus on the future and planning for an afterlife.

Darwin had little interest in cultural evolution.

I would have thought that Rome was capitalist.

Their culture wasn't dominated by businessmen the way capitalist cultures are. The joint stock company didn't come into existence until the 1600's. No stock market.

If wealth accumulation through profits is capitalism then every nation that has ever existed was capitalist.
