Remember Obama going after Romney donors????

So I guess there isn't a chance this IRS thing has 'trickle down politics'.

Does a position requiring a law degree have a lawyer with a degree? That's a great start.

Is it an appointed position? Some require congressional advice and consent and some do not. How were they vetted?

Why the deflection? Is it just for the sake of prissiness or is there a greater point?

Clearly there was an obvious and even demonstrated (willful and repeated) law breaking bias used for hiring choices during the W administration. It portrays in clear light the desires of W. As was shown, he hired a comparatively minimally capable person for a gig when there was a much more competent choice available to him. I have no doubt this was done many times. I dunno about you but to me and I think most reasonable people that tells the story of his requirements for a job. Fortunately for all of us, the current president has nowhere near the corrupt desires of his predecessor.

But i'm lost on the reasoning for your deflection......

Getting interesting.

House Ways and Means Committee Republicans aren't ruling out the use of the chamber's "inherent contempt" authority if Attorney General Eric Holder refuses to act on the panel's accusations against former IRS official Lois Lerner.

Liberal organizations, including the New York Times, called for Congress to use that power in 2007 during the presidency of George W. Bush, when the legislature was controlled by Democrats.

Let’s see, according to some the GOP is gonna charge her with something and according to others they are also gonna give her immunity. These guys need to make up their minds on which direction this stupidly thought out, hollow and pointless gesture in theater is going to take.

Funny, seem to remember when a new admin came in, it was customary for the other party employees to turn in their resignations.

NBC News: What Is Contempt of Congress

Q: When was the last time a full chamber of Congress, either the Senate or the House, voted on a contempt of Congress citation?

A: The year was 1983. The House voted 413-0 to cite former Environmental Protection Agency official Rita Lavelle for contempt of Congress for refusing to appear before a House committee. Lavelle was later acquitted in court of the contempt charge, but she was convicted of perjury in a separate trial.

Watching Issa capriciously end a hearing that's not going the way he wants it to and then turning off Elijah Cummings' microphone is all the proof anybody ought to need that he's a real CLASS ACT.

I'd think there's a large part of the game we don't see. With all the flack Issa has been taking, I could see him 'having a moment'.

You know, the cops acted stupidly.

Quote:
The war between Oversight Committee chairman Darrell Issa and the committee’s ranking member, Elijah Cummings, rages on.

Issa on Wednesday accused the Maryland Democrat of colluding with the Internal Revenue Service in its targeting of the conservative nonprofit group True the Vote, whose founder, Catherine Engelbrecht, said she received multiple letters from Cummings in 2012 and personal visits from the IRS and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Explosives. Engelbrecht’s True the Vote is one of the many conservative groups that claims to have been improperly targeted by the IRS while it scrutinized the applications of tea-party groups.

In a letter signed by his five subcommittee chairmen, Issa raised the possibility that Cummings coordinated with the IRS, “surreptitiously” contacting the agency to request information about True the Vote.

Yeah, lotsa class.

Unfortunately, it's all LOW.

Anyone unable to see Cummings political agenda in that exchange is either naive or hopelessly zealous of the democrat party.

There is nothing wrong with having a political agenda. Show me a member of Congress who does not have one. The issue is fairness and respect for the process. Cummings made a good point - he referred to a colleague, saying how many people that individual represented and pointed out, in so many words, that Issa was not just disrespecting that individual, as well as Cummings, he was disrespecting the people that individual represented.

Issa's party is in the majority but that doesn't that running roughshod over the concept of debate and discussion is OK.

Issa is a piece of work. Cried like a baby when Ahnold beat him in the gubernatorial contest back when.
