I'll take a stab at what CLK meant by it. "I have a property I need to sell. I haven't been able to sell it by just putting it on the regular real estate market so I'm going to auction it. I need to get at least $85k but since I haven't been able to sell it for that price, I'm going to sell it 'no reserve' and take the risk that it will sell for less. I think God looks out for me so I'm hoping it will bring the amount that I need. The stronger I believe this, the more likely it will be that I'll get the best price, so I'm going to write on a public forum that I believe god will get me the best price, since it makes it appear that I believe it very strongly."

I wonder how often that's muttered by Christians in Africa and other places in the world -- in the cases when God decided not to give them food, money, nor resources?

I'm not a Calvinist, so no I do not believe that certain tragedies are part of God's plan.

It's kinda hard to find an analogy because... well, God is God and there's nothing like Him. Nor do our thoughts and reasoning match His.

This verse might explain what I'm saying a little bit better.

Depends on what type of debt and who is holding it.

The Bible is not a collection of answers or reference material. Yes, it does speak to several specific situations, but since debt is spoken of many times what do you want to know?

So to be clear, people handing out money to those in need is god's plan, but a kid surviving a plane crash and then getting nailed by an ambulance isn't.
Presumably then, the 19 AZ Hotshots' death, whose memorial service I am crying through right now, wasn't god's plan either.
He should plan better.

Oh right, let me pull that out of my giant cache of "counts of phrases Christian people say in Africa". Right. Are you denying that there are situations where devout Christians live in debt, hunger, and suffering?
