Most mb Solex and zenith carbs are prone to warping and extremely difficult to correct, Weber replacements are a much better option from jam engineering.

It really is a lovely model to drive , gaskit failure is Not a frequent repair or required on a well maintained car.

zeniths faults and warpage

Once a 180 or 130 engine overheats badly the zenith's will likely warp and cause various starting and running faults which even a new kit will not rectify.
The warpage needs to be trued and...

squirt some carb cleaner in the carb bore to see if it will catch on .this will isolate ignition or fuel problem .
I assume this is a the 4 cyl engine with a Stromberg carb.

leaving the ignition on for 10 minutes is not good . the fuel pump gets activated for 5 sec only and then again when the starter is activated .

check the rotor for high resistance...
