The first time I called Peach Parts, Phil answered. I described the symptoms on my 560SL, Phil diagnosed the problem and told me what I needed. Problem solved. He was a true profesional. I'm not the first to think he will be greatly missed.
Sad day.

Dear Jennifer,
Your dad was special indeed. In addition to being a prince of a guy, he helped to fuel the passion that drives thousands of us here on the Diesel Forum and the other forums. Your dad shared our enthusiasm and always took us seriously, treating big and small requests with professionalism and respect. I will miss his expert knowledge but not nearly as much as I will miss his unflagging good nature. After every phone call, I extended a sincere invitation to visit me at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. where I promised to show him some special things - in the spirit of friendship and as a way of returning the many favors he did for me. He said that he would take me up on it when he had time, and was ever in Washington. I now extend the invitation to you. Thanks for your note and sharing your dad with all of us. Mark Conner

Wow... Very sad news. Phil helped me several times with items I had a difficult time finding. He always came through and was very nice. I'm sure he will be sorely missed in more ways than one...

Rest In Peace Phil

Best Regards,

AJ

What a great loss. Like so many others have posted, when you talked to Phil, you were the only one that mattered. Such a quality to have possessed and cultivated!

Jennifer and family, go forward strengthened knowing that Phil's memory lives on in the hundreds, if not thousands of folks he dealt with in such a positive and caring fashion over the years.

Take care.

Even though I only spoke with Phil when I needed parts, he always remembered me and would ask me questions that proved he wasn't just looking at a computer screen. He was a true value to this site and to all the members here. I'm glad I was able to chat with him recently and he will be greatly missed.

My condolensces to his family. RIP Phil.

Great Guy

I am so sorry to hear the news. Phil was special indeed - I was by no means a "big" customer, but every time I talked to him he remembered me and was always incredibly helpful. "Call Phil" is the mantra around here - he will be greatly missed.

- Eric

My condoleneces. Phil was one of the best. Who in the world would call a "customer" at midnight to CORRECTLY diagnosis a percieved major issue only to have Phil fix it by phone. Phil did that and he will be missed by the MB community.

It was a shock to see the notice of Phil's passing a few minutes ago when I opened up the Peach Parts website today.

This is truly a shock. My condolences to Phil's family and fiancee.

He will be missed.

Phil went out of his way on a couple of occasions to help me with parts issues on the 240D without selling me a thing. One of those you feel you've known forever. Truly a man of honor. Godspeed Phil.
