abs problem

94 600sl drive car 20 feet abs /asr lite comes on found code 12 solenoid valve relay asr works fine and no codes in ea/cc/isc control unit. Is the problem just a relay? I ordered both of them since yhey are not that much. My scanner does not show a data steam for the abs, so I can't see whats going on, there are no lites until you move the car 20 or so feet seems like a wheel. Can anybody help? thanks

That involves some historical info, did you replace your engine wiring harness yet? That can cause a lot of strange problems. Jim had some similiar issues with his S coupe, take a look at his site and see if you can find any information, http://pages.prodigy.net/jforgione/MB_S500.html See if that will get you started. I am not totally familiar with those cars, I have most experience on OBDII autos, except for the things I have seen on the site and from friends in the MB club. My advice is that if you have done everything you can, take it to the Dealer and have them do a diagnoses, they have a specific machine that will tell you exactly what is wrong, and they see those cars every day. Good luck!

The more I think about that, it seems like a speed sensor, if everything is working fine, the ASR light will come on because it thinks there is slippage, but really you could have a faulty speed sensor, check them all out and make sure there isn't debris or grease on them, clean them up if dirty.
