I took my car into MBS where Benzmac works last week and he personally took care of it. Boy does it go like a dream now, my car is actually much better than the times I have taken it to Atlanta Classic Cars (an Authorized Benz dealer) and this is no joke. There is a world of a difference when your car is serviced by someone or a company that loves the cars, as opposed to those who are just in it for the money. Or is it that those in it for the money think that Benz drivers don’t have a clue and just make charges without doing the job properly.
One of the problems I had was my car floating all over the place since Atlanta Classic did a lower control arm and some suspension work on it. Benzmac took care of that – the car now holds the road properly.
I doff my hat to Benzmac.

But on another note I need help. My car goes so well now I got pulled over yesterday Jan 1 for doing 88 in a 65 zone by a patrol car. I didn’t even realize I was going this fast (just 3 days after Benzmac put his hands on it). I’ve got a court date for Feb 16, I don’t mind paying a fine but I don’t want any points. Can anybody give me any pointers on working this issue, it happened in Gwinnett county – Georgia.?

Show up dressed for business. Be polite. Talk with the prosecutor and ask him if there is a way to prevent getting any points.

Keep this in mind the next time you get stopped. Pull over as soon as you realize they are after you, put on your flashers and get out with all of the proper documentation and if the officer asks the reason tell them the truth while being polite. Then try to see if the officer will lower it to within 15 mph of the speed limit. If it is within 15 they do not send any information to the insurance co. Talk to the prosecutor and see if there is any chance they will lower the speed any. I think if it is 25mph + over then it becomes wreckless driving.
good luck

I have been stopped numerous times and have been lucky in never being ticketed. I always apologise to the officer and never argue. So far so good , but my wife was stopped for 75 in a 55 recently. We got an attorney to write to the prosecutor on her behalf, and got it reduced to "failure to obey a traffic signal".
Cost: Fine $100, Attorney $300.
2 points and no insurance report.
I think its worth this route if your insurance will take a hit. You might try an attorney in the town you were nailed in, they usually know the run of things there.
(BTW I am not an attorney).

I have not had my car in for service at MBS, but have visited and talked with Benzmac. They are good people.

If you are lucky the officer will not show up for the court hearing and the case will be dismissed. That was my experience in Cobb County for a ticket on I-285. Good luck.

If you were stopped for speeding, then just ask when the device they stopped you with was last calibrated, and the results of that calibration test. Also ask for the record of that Police officer (how many people he pulled over before). Send that letter to the prosecutor registered, most likely they will not bother and the case will be dismissed. I read that on some other post about someone (Ithink Donnie maybe even) getting a ticket. It was in the tech help forum however I can't find it. Try the search. Look through all the ideas given. Good Luck

Well, I got nailed for 90 in a 65 back in November. Had to go to court in Toledo. Seems as though good 'ol Toledo has one judge who makes it a mandatory court appearance for a speeding violation of 90 or above. Well, off to court my attorney and I went. Spoke to the prosecutor, got the speed charge knocked down to 74 in a 65 and the points knocked off (so my record still stands at zero points) but we were warned by the prosecutor that the judge never lets anyone out of his courtroom without a license suspension. So in to stand before the judge we go. In and out in 10 minutes. Ammended speed of 74mph, $150 fine and a 60 day license suspension (with driving priveliges to work). So on February 17th I have to go to the BMV, (they do indeed actually take your plastic license card and shred it!) and re-apply for my license. When they pull my file, they'll see no points and one suspension for a 74 in a 65! That's crazy! A friend of mine got tagged just one weekend later going 90 in a 65, on the Ohio Turnpike as well, but he got nailed out in Youngstown. He called down there to see if they suspend licenses and the clerk said she'd never heard of anything so crazy as suspending a license for a speeding violation. So we discover that Maumee county is the only county in Ohio with this stupid rule. Anyhow, just call the court and arrange for a pre-trial meet with the prosecutor and talk with him and see if you can work out a deal so you don't have to stand in front of a judge. The prosecutor was very nice to us, but he said the judge wouldn't hear of letting anyone out without a suspension. Oh, and listen to this..The prosecutor told us that state required jail time for a DWI is 3 days, this guy gives 17 days in jail! Well, ok, for drunken driving, I might very well agree with that, but it's just to point out how hard nosed this guy is. We also heard that this judge gave a Chicago Bulls player who was passing through and got nailed a 6 month suspension with no priveliges! He told him he was rich enough to afford a chauffeur! Ok, enough ranting. Just hope you get a good judge (preferably an Irishmen!) they're the best ones!
