1989 190e 2.6 Just quit running, need some addvise on what test I shoud run

I have hade this mercedes for about 6 years, It has ran fine up until i parked it for about 2 mounths ago. My daughter drove last week for about 6 miles she came to a stop light and it stalled and would not start. I went to go see if it was somthing simple and it started right up I started to drive it home and made it about five miles as i came to the light near my house it died on me and would not start.when I tried to start the starter would turn and i could hear the fuel pump prime the injectors,I pulled the rotor cap to find some currossin clean that up, pulled off the air filter and seen gas vapers after trying to start it.

1.Is the a way to test the electronic ignition moduel with a Ohm meter?
2.Is there a way to test the coil with a ohm meter?
3.I will take any sugestions at this point. My girlfriend said i should sell it for junk how cruel she drives a Chevy AVERO (Bright Yellow and do i mean bright ) all kidding aside I could use some good advise.

Thanks WTaylor
