OK, I'll display my ignorance here on this one. Does a 2.3-16 have hydraulic lifters or not? I've heard both answers from others in the forum. Here's the kicker, my tech tells me they ARE.

So, if someone out there who credibly knows the correct answer, confidently, please advise by either confirming this or proving to the contrary. If they're NOT, I'll know not to return to that f'n shop! Thanks to anyone who can provide me a legitimate answer!!!

Reason for concern is that I get a cold start 'clatter' that immediately goes away, just like a car w/ hydro lifters. But then someone suggested it was the chain tensioner. I'd like to know where to start.
