Installing chrome door moulding on 124
How does one properly install this piece?
I'm pretty sure this chrome strip is limited to '91 300E's and up and other 124's. My other strip was hanging, due to missing clips so I pulled it off and broke a couple of other clips (there are plastic as well as metal clips involved) in the process. I also tried to pull one of these metal clips out, but to no avail. It appears to be secured from the inside of that lower body panel. Once I replace the missing clips, does the chrome molding simply snap back on, or do I slide it on starting from the door's edge? I sure hope I don't have to remove that body panel to add the missing clips Thanks for any help you can provide! ~~Paul |

I am not so sure if I can be of help.
I worked on the 126 body panel kit before (when I had to replace the clips - mostly plastic). When the clips are replaced, I just snap them back on. Need a little push and it goes into place. Now, this is where I don't know if the strip works the same manner. To be doubly sure, if the strip has hatches where it meets the end of clips, then I'm very sure it snaps back on. Or look for clip marks if there isn't a hatch.
