Parking brake noise

I have a question on my 99 C230 Kompressor sport, the parking brake seems making louding clunking noise from time to time. Dealer adjusted once and it got quiet for a while and the noise came back. it seems that it is the cable or something is rubbibg against some parts when you press the brake.
