This weekend I am going to replace the sound insulation of the engine.
A bought a new one, only this one is different from the old. One side had little square holes in it and the other is flat. Which side should be glued to the hood? |

I think that the eggcrate side goes towards the hood. Smooth should face the engine compartment.

I did think so to, only the sound insulation would be better with the "open" side towards the engine. I would like to know it for sure before the glue part.

I just got a post frome someone telling me that the "waffel" side should be at the inside (towards engine). Makes sence, larger surface, better absorbation.
Now I just have to wait until it stops raining! |

You must glue the flat face.

Rob, Sorry, I got it backwards, Flat towards sheetmetal. I thought you were referring to the hood pad in your original post?
