Thumbs up

An external wastegate would solve many problems sticking a bigger turbo on the SD... I wonder if a stock EGR manifold can be adapted.

I'm not wanting 400hp... 250hp is fine with about 325-375tq.

what would it take to make those #'s on a 617, ive been looking at 300d's and SD's for a first car (still searching and saving) and would love to make those kinds of #'s. would it need more than a bigger turbo on a tubular manifold with a conical filter and IC possiblefront mount? with an external wastegate, larger exhaust and ALDA adjustments. would the rest of the drivetrain need any work or could the stock trans, driveshaft, axles, etc hold up to that kind of power. and how would these mods effect MPG. i would love to be able to match the performace of my dads E320 wagon or even better. but i dont want to have some 5" tips hanging ot the back or a neon orange valve cover, and full mufflers to keep it civilized on my ears while cruising.(another ? is there a differnce between mufflers for gas cars and ones for diesel cars and trucks.)

The body work is very very nice, but it looks like they've got the original, rusted and ugly rotors underneath those sweet rims.

Looks like the rubber on the front bumper is original, too...it's white and agéd looking.

I like the valve cover modification for the oil breather...smart!
I am in LOVE with that engine...I think it'd be better in a 116 body
