Clean silver 2002 e320 estate (wagon) 200k for $800!!

If it's really true that all the needs to be replaced is the torque converter and some trim pieces on the rear bumper then this is a sweet deal.

It all depends if your willing to risk the vehicle having more major problems. But at 800 it kinda seems low enough to have a huge friggin safety net. You got enough room to throw a om606 in there and still break even or make $ off a flip.

Man I just love wagons!!

I am with you there, luv the wagons too! I have a complete 99 E300 parts car that would be great to make it a TD. However, I don't need anymore projects! Also, being in CA, it would be a bear to get smogged.....Rich

Unfortunately, I don't know the condition of the engine and trans, other than the engine won't start (no compression). I have already robed some parts from the engine. Once I pull the cam cover, I should be able to see what might be the cause for no compression (I suspect a broken timing chain).............Rich

WOW I never knew they were good enough to go back and forth from Florida to the Tortuga Island. The floorboards must be rust free for that to happen.

I thought that the only way you could make that trip in a car was in the old VW BUG!!!!!!!!!! Supposed to be able to float for a pretty long time if you keep the windows closed!!!!

Honestly, I've given up on finding a good diesel Mercedes for a fair price. My next Mercedes will be gassers.

Don't forget to grease the screw and threads on the spring compressor.

There's plenty of good ones out there with potential.

Keyword. I've usually put $500 at least to get myself a good MERCEDES diesel caught up to snuff. You can't expect to find a mint condition 20+ year old car. If you want a clean good condition Benz diesel spend $3k plus, but its going to need maintenance eventually. it's expected.

Post Vehicle Fees

Easily .

The govt. wants old vehicles off the road to help sell more news ones (as if everyone in American could afford or wants a new one) so they have punitive and escalating late fees and penalties .

It only takes a couple three years to pass $1,000.00 in California, why you see so many really cherry old people's vehicles in junk yards .

Yes, _sometimes_ you can re register it out of state but many states now have reciprocation with the California DMV preventing this .

This could well be a good deal ($1,600.00 for a solid old S Klasse with clear title and current tags sounds good to me) but most will shy away from any vehicle here with any sort of DMV problem because they work diligently at making a simple process difficult .

Diesels in my area are thrashed, I'll have to travel out of state for a clean diesel benz, which I am more than willing to do.

$3k plus was my budget for a clean diesel Benz, in my area, W140's and W210 are at rock bottom values, w123, w126, and w124 are going up.

If you ever decided to sell one of your's I'll snatch it up.
