These kind of companies live by the moto : Divide and conquer.
For the most part you'd never hear from someone else about bad or poor service, so the word never gets out and along comes another buyer totaly oblivious about the likelyhood of wasted time and effort . Now we have the internet and we can share info' more quickly. Perhaps other than RIPP OFF.COM, perhaps someone can suggest a web site we can all post to about companies we buy from...good or bad...like the eBay system of posting purchase results...although that is flawed IMHO. As of now, there have been 1242 views of this thread...at lot of potential business gone down the drain . .

FWIW, I've started going to the dealer for small items; gaskets, bushings etc that I need for a project but can't seem to remember to include on orders to Phil. It's fun to go there in my w115, park in the service drive through and leave it clattering while I go the parts counter. The parts gang is pretty cool when I come in with my own numbers and never fail to make a positive comment about the age of my cars.

When it comes to comedy, this forum pales in comparison to some of the other automotive sites. This week on Jeepforum, some poor chap was considering attaching a couple of brake lines with JB Weld!!! Or were they "break" lines?

Hey, I'm glad I'm providing everyone comic relief about Performance Products having everything in stock. The point was that they stock in their warehouse the items they sale. It is not to say that items can be out of stock or back ordered.
The point is that they do not function like Phil or Rusty, who have nothing in stock. They don't have their own warehouse. They are just a billing source, and the product can ship from anywhere in the country, usually from World Pac or from a local MB dealer.

I'm glad this thread got bumped, I missed it earlier. I have deleted PP from the wish list file I keep on my desktop, and order every few months. Dealt with them once and it was o.k. but I wouldn't even consider dealing with them again after reading this thread. I sure wish Phil shipped to Canada, oh well...

I'm just a lazy putz! I just call Phil, read off a parts list, and he sends it to me. The part I really hate...There is nothing to ***** about. He gets it done right, it gets here quick. I may pay a little more...but then again I pay more for 101 Wild Turkey Bourbon too. It's worth it.
