the letter stated 30 days from the send date of the 28th of December... that's the 27th of Jan... so I could get a call any day to schedule the inspection... I HOPE HE WAITS UNTIL NEXT WEEK TO CALL... because the STINKING ROTTEN RAIN just refuses to stop!!!!
my yard looks like a florida everglades swamp!!!

I have the two MB's left loaded on the truck, and I'm planning to load the stealth on the trailer tonight, then haul them out to the lot either tonight or tomorrow morning.
I've still gotta get valid plates on my Jetta and my Suburban to satisfy the inspector... and the Sub has minor issues to get inspected prior to receiving a plate...

then I've gotta pump up the tires in the boats, and drag them over to the lot as well...
that SHOULD satisfy anything the inspector wants to see...

Last time I talked to NC DMV, they issue some type of temporary plate to a car that has not been registered lately, so that you can legally drive it to a shop for inspection.
I don't know how long it is good for, but might cover the Suburban in a pinch?
Also, not sure if it start some deadline for getting it to pass inspection...?

ok... suburban, inspected successfully, and ready to get a tag.
Jetta needed engine parts assembled to be safe to drive, and pass inspection. I THINK it's ready, so I'll attempt it's inspection tomorrow.
I'll also deliver the two vehicles on the hauler to the lot in the morning... I HOPE!!!

the 89 headlights were slightly different from the 85's, but I got enough stuff at the yard to make it fit. now I gotta swap the other light, as the new ones look WAAAAAY better...

it passed.
so now I just have to put plates on both vehicles, and I'm gonna be a 5 registered vehicle taxpayer... arrgh.

only ONE car left in the yard needing to go. and it's got a home. hopefully it'll be there in the morning, and I'll be ready for inspection. one or two more scrap yard trips to make for "stuff" in the yard, it'll happen tomorrow also.

it's raining...

of course it's raining... the weather app on my phone says cloudy, 93% humidity, temps in the mid 60's... no mention of rain... the next 4 days are supposed to be sunny...

we'll see.

IT'S HOT OUT HERE!!!

the wind kicked in and blew all the rain out of here, and it's SUNNY! we'll see if the rain drenched mud will dry up today.
no word from the inspector... I'm hoping he's giving me additional time due to the MASSIVE amounts of rain we had this month. we'll see.

the last vehicle is being a pain... bad tire on it, and can't pull it with bad tire in this mud... tractor just spins tires...sooooo, I'll go get a used tire stuck on the rim... actually two of the tires are shot, but one holds air long enough to get it on the trailer I hope. I'd change it too, but I beat on the rim for 30 minutes trying to get it off the axle, and failed... for get it!
I got the two boats dragged up into the driveway, so I'll have an easy time loading them and hauling them I hope...
If I can make it through the day, I'm getting a LONG night sleep... I'm TOTALLY exhausted!!!!
I can barely lift my arms today.

yuup, the inspector did not call, or show up.

I got LOTS done friday, and today we CLEANED the yard well.

more touch up to do tomorrow, and HOPEFULLY I'll be done!!!!!

My sister and mother arrived today, and really polished the yard. raked leaves, and filled 5 trash roll out containers, and several bags with various junk I didn't even notice in the yard...
she says she'll return tomorrow and see about polishing the rest of the place, give a REALLY good impression to the inspector when they show.

I tried to move one of the boats, but the lot I was storing stuff in, was closed when I got there, I called the owner, and he's gonna try and make space for me in his schedule for the last 3 items that need to leave.

I hope I can get that 69 firebird stored before the inspector arrives...

OK, the last car is out, the one boat is out, and I"M HOPING the inspector will allow me time to get the other boat registered.
the yard is PRISTINE!!!! zero anything on the ground anywhere!

My family arrived again today at 8am, and we worked until just a few minutes ago... so 11 hours today and we're totally clean and shiny in the yard.

Thank you EVERYONE who came and assisted me parting vehicles, and getting cars out of my yard.

I still have a LOT of stuff to sort through, and several cars that were hauled away, that need to be finished disassembled, and THEN I'll totally be finished with the cars for good.

I'll build up a list of stuff as I get it inventoried, and set up a store of sorts to order from when it's all done.

I'D LOVE to have several members come spend a day setting up shelves and sorting parts to store. but I understand what was done was hard enough, getting more stuff done is gonna be cream!

Glad your ordeal is finally coming to an end. Hopefully you will be able to spend some time on a beach with a bucket of cold beer and relax.
