I also like the three tone, as well as the black and the fire engine red one.

My friend's '38 Ford pickup has been slowed because he cannot decide on a color scheme. I prefer the two tone: Fenders, and running boards dark--black, dark brown, or dark blue. The rest, along with the wheels in a contrasting color: I like straw. or a tan with either the blue or brown fenders/ running boards.

There was a period correct color in the forties. A very, very dark irridecent blue. About as close to black without being black. The paints code will still be out there. It was even a fairly popular selling colour in the day.

I have noticed that fenders painted contrasting colors seem to foreshorten the vehicle visually and also make it appear higher to me. That may just be my perception though.

Ford had one, called "Washington Blue". The trouble is that there are MANY variations. I've seen supposedly "correct" restorations with Washington Blue from near black, to Navy, to even a little lighter than Navy Blue.

That particular Bugatti would look GREAT in ANY color, or condition--even heavy rust. That is a very pleasing shape---at least to these eyes.

Well, yeah.....

But how would it look with the tail replaced by a small bed? (just kidding. I think Bugatti and Ferrari, I have never seen either made into a pickup but most other makes including Packard and Cadillac, yes....no Deusies either).

Seriously those colors though on my CE.....the yellow between the hood shut line down to the fenders and from the point of the nose to the back of the cab....the rest black.

Yellow and black can be a good combination. Especially for fans/alum of a certain ACC school.
