Actually it would not suprise me if you saw an old studebaker truck there. Perhaps all the ones they produced for the second world war effort may have gotten around. Thinking old farm vehicle now,

Light kaki. I have not seen a palm tree vehicle stencil around for quite some time. Glad you are happy with the outside pictures. Most of us are looking forward to seeing the vehicle with all it's trim back on etc.

Can't figure how to save and post in GREECE yet. I expect I'll have to wait til I return.

Yesterday we had some poor luck.
1. we climbed up umpteen storys to reach the summit of the rock at Monemvasio and found the entire upper summit closed for repairs. WTF? great views from up there though.
2. Then we were advised of some cool caves not too far away (about an hour drive) so we headed down there in the afternoon. There were two roads from the west side of the peninsula to the caves both looked about the same so we took the northern road....well.....it was absolutely the toughest mountain road I have ever driven on. STeep and the switchbacks were so tight I found myself in First gear and looking out the right side passenger window nearly at the post. Many switchbacks were so close together that I had to stay in First to get between them. It appeared to be basically a paved goat path.
3. it took an hour to go about 8 kilometers so we reached the caves a little before 5 pm. not knowing what to expect (never drive out anywhere in GREECE without phoning ahead) when we arrived we found the gates locked. Doh! open only on Saturday this time of year.

There were places where the edge of the road was so steep we could not see the slope away and it dropped away from the white Line, a one lane road, I was hugging the inside. the mrs had long since stopped looking down. the edge was so ragged that I was afraid it would break away with the weight of the Car.

When we got Near the cave though I stopped to take pictures and found that we could see easily back to the rock of monevasia where we were staying a distance as the crow flys of maybe 50 miles and well beyound. I guess the air is pretty clean in GREECE.

We found places where it said watch out for falling rocks and there were lots of them on the road, one as big as a large ottoman.

I also saw two dead animals on the road which appeared to be Red fox like we have in Indiana....don't know if they have them here.

We also drove through a couple goat heards grazing on the road and on its sides. Two very impressive RAMS with horns that did over 360 degrees in twisting.

I've seen a few mercedes. plenty of c class taxis a few 124s. today i photographed a very nice 115 220d with a hitch, also lots of busses and trucks. Mercedes may be the most prolific seller of big trucks here.

They also have pickup trucks here including Dodge which appear to be dakotas. I took a Picture of a really cute little Fiat el camino today. there are several other brands of little truckcars as well, including vws that are newer than what was brought here.

the greeks continue to be gracious hosts....never ending patience with us dolts WHO cannot even say hello in Greek. So far only two folks observed WHO did not appear to be happy in their work and one which acted actively grouchy toward us.

Traffic continues to be a bit of a challenge, with occasional folks pulling out without looking and today a fellow queezed me while I was passing causing my heart to skip a beat or two as I was getting squeezed by a truck from the other direction.

This morning I took a dip off the rocks of monemvasia before breakfast....lovely.

Today we drove right to our Hotel in Napflioi which is a lovely mineature of the french riveara with a lovely port with a small castle in the harbor. our room has a perfect view of it from the balcony.

tomorrow I'll probably view ruins at mycenea and Corinth.

Now we are going to find a place to get in the water for a swim before supper.

Cheers!

Really making progress now. Lots of work to get this far.

How did the manufacturer identify his product for that year? Some form of Studebaker script? If so where was it originally mounted on the body Tom.

Looks great, Tom. Hope to see it in person some day. Doesn't it need a sun visor? (J/K, of course).
