The gallon cost me $45.50. It wasn't an earth shattering savings, figures to about 14%. I'm sure that if you ordered it, by the time you paid shipping and handlng, it would be cheaper to stay with the 12 ounce bottles. I go right past the place on a regular basis, so it's worth it.

Actually I've switched to the Power Service Diesel Kleen, iin the silver bottles, during summer, and their stuff in the white bottles for winter. It seems to do about as well as the Redline, is somewhat cheaper (about $4 to do 50 or 100 gallons vs $5 for the 12 oz redline), and I've been finding myself more regularly in WalMart (power service) than Pep Boys (Redline $4.99 / 12 oz.).

BTW Shell diesel is $1.44 locallly... some Hess was $1.399 but I avoid this stuff unless I can't. Texaco Premium diesel $1.48, and in NJ the good cheap price is more like $1.279.

What are wages there compared to the US? Is there a minimum wage? What does a average blue collar worker make an hour in US dollars? I'll have a better feel for what that $3.015 means.

I figured the $3.015 was NZ$ which I calculated to be about US$1.41705 per gallon. This is very close to our $1.439 in the USA.

imperial vs. u.s. gallon

please keep in mind when comparing uk and overseas
equivalents

1.0 imperial gallon = 4.55 liter = 1.20 US gallon

oh, and i guess these mite be of use as well

To convert from US gallons to litres, multiply by 3.8.
To convert from US gallons to Imperial (UK) gallons, multiply by 0.8.

now that i am totally confused...

it looks like diesel in new zealand costs about the same as it does on the u.s. east coast all things considered!

Paid more for diesel than gas was going for at the Detroiter truck stop the other night. It was the first time since I got the car that diesel was more. I paid $1.459 there, and I was it at a corner station a couple of miles or so away for $1.399!

How can diesel be more expensive at a truck stop?
