W123 engine mount replacement

The engine mounts on my 300D are totally shot. I have a few questions about replacing them though.

Firstly, can i just support the engine with the oil pan while i work on the mounts?

Secondly, is there more to this system then just the motor mounts? Is there an engine shock absorber(s)? Does it have mounts that need to be replaced? I am going to go through and replace everything while im doing this.

********az lists a front 'T' mount under engine mounts for an '85 300D. I have never heard of such a thing. I dont see it on fastlane so i'm a little suspicious if it really exists.
