Woah - actually really like the color matching you did on the grill of the red. I’ve only seen people black it out, which I also think looks better than the faded gray, but that color match is super sharp. Just wondering if it might be too much with a set of color matching caps - mine isn’t signal red, but an equally vibrant 504 Englishcrot - think it’d be too much??

The red one belongs to a friend. As soon as I get the A/C working, he is selling it. The white coupe is my "Pick-A-Part" save (thread here somewhere). It needs a trans, does not shift to fourth. The blue 4 spd 240 is my beater. The paint is falling off, the interior is bad, but it works great for what I use it for. It has fuel consumption issue now, but I hope to figure it out soon. Even though it is a beater, it is well worth the $1,000 I paid for it.......Rich

I too love the tomato red Sedan .

Sorry to hear the CD's tranny is kaput, maybe time to teach your self how to tinker them back to life ? .

When my '82 240D's auto tranny stopped shifting into fourth gear I took it to a local guy I know and trust, said 'time for rebuild' and he called me back the next day, it was fixed and only $150 ~ I wasn't happy as it also leaked and used a pint of ATF every two weeks but I put another 100,000 miles on it before he rebuilt it during the engine rebuild so maybe there's some little thing you can do to help it work a bit longer.....
