Downtown Dickerson is now a Walmart Ghost town. I-45, and the farm roads off it into Dickerson are strip malled, churched, and subdivided into middle class nesting grounds. There is still a lot of undeveloped land east of there towards the bay, but anything close to 45 is now a zoo. As goes Dickerson. there goes the rest of the country.

New World Order

The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past & present. You know; Hitler, Mussolini, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic and the rest of those 'good ole boys'! We vow to never "interfere" again.

We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Iraq, Afghanistan, Germany, South Korea and the Philippines. They don't want us there anyway. We will station those troops at our borders to prevent anyone sneaking through holes in the fence.

All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of who or where they are. France would gladly welcome them.

All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit. No one from a known terrorist nation will be allowed in, EVER. If you don't like it where you live, change it yourself. Don't come here claiming political or religious asylum and try to hide. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

No foreign "students" over the age of 21. The older ones are the bombers. If the young ones don't attend classes, or they get a "D", then it's back home baby.

The US will be making a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of energy but will require the temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.

Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $20 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it they can go sell their oil to another huge oil consuming country. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not "interfere." They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Most of what we give them is stolen by bandits or turned over to the army anyway. The people who need it most get very little.

Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island some place. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens awaiting deportion.

The language we Americans speak is ENGLISH. Learn it... or LEAVE!

The Statue of Liberty will no longer carry a torch and be inscribed 'Give me your poor, your tired, your huddled masses.' She will now carry a baseball bat and be yelling, 'You want a piece of me?'
I can't see a bad idea on that list. Where do I send my donation?

Shane, is it the list of ideas that you are opposed to or the people who might agree with them? If it is the list, are there any points that particularly offend you?

It's just stupid isolation crap that's never going to happen, and is just another example of propaganda designed to appeal to the emotions and prejudices of the receiver. Any idiot knows the economy would collapse if we deported all the illegals in 90 days, but that's ok, because this is written for people who are not as smart as any idiot. At heart, it is Nazi master race crap.

Good question. I have been vague. I will tell you what offends me most in the good ol' USA.
Fear.
Fear of the unkown. It is the basis for hatred. The media feeds it, while never trying to explain it. The gov't manipulates it for monetary gain and social stability. The religions justify it by telling their flock that they just happen to be better than all the rest, who of course for some petty reason or the other, have it wrong.

This fear/hatred manifests itself in some funny ways right here on this forum. Have you ever noticed how the stark raving mad right wingers on this forum usually have some kind of anti-social avatar or signature? And they think this is normal and cool. That is the biggest hoot. Basically they are saying you should fear them. Fear them or join them on their self-righteous quest to kill anything that seems alien to them. Unfortunately alot is alien to them.

Just my opinion, but you're still being vague. Have you considered that it is entirely possible for an extremely intelligent person to completely disagree with you?

Thanks to Netflix we’re watching one disk of Ken Burns’ “The West” each week. The division because of slavery reminds me of the division that is sweeping us up now. This is becoming all more than I remember over Viet Nam, but that was a long time ago. Nothing like the Internet to communicate, so everyone you knew had the same for or against attitude.
Is it fear or is it greed? Why do I think I’m just talking about the other guys? Is it shame and guilt vs. fear and greed? It’s right vs. wrong isn’t it? Why doesn’t it seem simple to everyone? Like some people just don’t get it – and it always them. Is that perfectly clear?

No, because anyone that disagrees with you is obviously a moron. Please run for Dictator at your earliest convinience, so that we may purge our society of these inbred yokels and have a more prosperous society.

I think you have a good point about fear. One only has to pick up a newspaper to see our fascination with material that generates fear and loathing. Why is that? In any event, politicians, not being as stupid as they appear, use this on the high-grade imbeciles that comprise a fair whack of the population. Man, it's all in Orwell, but that's a tired cliche, right?
