We need them and the research. Whe whole "controversy" is blown extremely out of proportion by Bush and other highly religious nuts.

They are not "killing people", they are using what would otherwise be medical waste for something humanity NEEDS.

If one is really "pro-life" then stem cell research should be one of the main things to fight for.

If somebody wants to do stem cell research there is nothing stopping that person from doing so. Be fruitful and multiply.

The fact that the United States can spend billions giving bombs to Israel to kill Arabs with but can't spend billions to save and improve lives is sad and pathetic. If a person is so into letting the private sector fund stem-cell, why not let the private sector fund Israel? If you want to send money to Israel, go ahead. You're free to do it. Just don't do it with my money.

If you want to use my tax money to help a person who can't walk -- I would rather see it used for that purpose and not to kill Arabs.

P.S. I think that what Arnold did in CA is very admirable and I although I don't like some of his ideas (most of which I think aren't really his own, just his party) -- I think he would make a great President... at least compared to the current one.

It has zero to do with reigion... that is all smoke and mirrors. You really think Bush cares about human life or death? Look at the wars he supports!!!

It has to do with, and only to do with the money he gets from pharm. companies. They are the last people on Earth that want Stem Cell Research to continue.

Ironic: Israel is the global leader in this research!!!

Go forth and get your people elected to office. Then you get your programs. that's what happens when you win. What you are experiencing right now we call, "LOOSING."

As per google:

No definitions were found for loosing.

I think you meant to write:

As per google:

unlawful premeditated killing of a human being by a human being

AH! yes, that's it.

I don't think it has anyting to do with Isreal or any part of the world. You seem to want to tie everything to Isreal. This is about religion. It doesn't matter to them that there is money or there isn't. Even if Isreal were to disappear tomorrow, it would still be a "no" as long as religion tries to insert itself in govermnent.

Need a tin foil hat?

Take religion out of the picture and what does anyone have an objection to? Stem cell will attempt to fix stuff on a level that drugs will not be able to reach.

For some reason, "loosing" seems to be a common typo. I've got this thing where I will write "their" when I mean "there." I have no idea why I do that.

BTW, even loosers are allowed to complain.

If W opposes stem cell research because it destroys embryos, then why doesn't he speak out against fertility clinics? Don't they throw away bunches of embryos?

I would think that some are disposed of. However, as with all religions, size matters. More people around = more chances of roping in someone and increase the herd. Larger herd, smaller chance of others wiping it out and greater voice in matters. Fertility clinics will put more people in the world and hence increase the herd size. Similarly, gay people will not. Masturbation will not. Why do you think religions mostly frown on such behavior?

it's amazing what you can do in a petri dish. Cure disease, repair genetic mutations that would otherwise sentence one to a life filled with ridcule and pain. By not allowing this research the white house is playing dog.

Siduri,

What do you mean "playing dog" (seriously... I don't know what you mean.)

Pete
