Hey Teddy,

Sorry I missed this thread about your knee surgery.

I hope you are feeling well.

My advice is to put this in perspective. You are talking about the rest of your life here relating to the health of your knee. I'd take it easy for a few days so it heals properly.

Besides, there must be someone at work who is a long-term employee who can be relied upon to pick up the slack in your absence.

I never saw it. Now I will have to rent it.

Swede, take it easy on the knee man.

It is not that hard to slow down.

I remember hearing something about a topless donut shop somewhere. Apparently it was too far away to be a serious danger to my weight. Just goes to show that there are very few businesses that naked, topless, or even near-naked women can't improve.

If Hooters had to make a go of it based upon the food I've had there, they would have gone under years ago.

The po, who still work there bought it from his Dad in the 80's. Two of the detailers started around that time and the other one has been there about 7 yrs. They all know how to run it. Shoot, it'd easy to run if you can drive, answer a phone and talk. Problem is that they're all paid on commission and don't want to help. Even paying them extra... I was gone one day last week, the day of surgery. That day the power was out due to a storm, so we weren't even open. Wed and Thurs I went in for about 3 hours. Maybe half a day Friday and Saturday.

In the car business, everyone is looking out for #1. I would day 70% of the people are ase holes.

Very true, the food isn't even on the 99/Applebees/TGI Fridays level. There is a Hooters here in town and one about 10 miles away near one of the big, local malls. It doesn't matter what time you drive by, the lots are always full.

It's a-ok, but won't be able to return to normal exercise routine for 3 months. My left leg had already atrophied some due to the limp.

Thanks for asking Chuck,

The pain is gone for the most part, though it hurt more than usual today. Walked about 2 miles...

It's still stiff, so I'm going to take a weekly yoga class (Hatha yoga which isn't vigorous). That should improve flexibility and strength.

The Doc said it will be a few more months before vigorous exercise like my normal yoga, running/biking or weight lifting.

Good eve M,

No meds and no pain, just stiff.

I did a lot of walking today with work and the dogs.

The Monday eve yoga class is at the Zen center, so I think the instuctor works with slow, gentle and purposeful asanas- more like Hatha yoga. That should be a good, safe stretch for the old knee. Vinyasa flow would be too intense right now. I'll give it a shot next month.

stairs

I was working in a 5 story building and started using the stairs for rehab. I overdid it about a week after, but did keep using the stairs since. I think it helped rebuild muscle tone in both legs. It is ok to be sore, but not to hurt.
