Do Atheists murder?
I can across this tidbit today and wanted to share, it appears that in the modern era the godless types are on a killing spree.

If you have no morality you cannot commit murder. All you can do is kill somebody...
Murder implies guilt.

In a Atheist society you would not have laws like we do since they were written by Theist's.

So other than religion, there is no compelling reason to agree to not murder each other?
Yes, people really believe this. No, it isn't so. And mass-murder is another thing. It happens a lot in the quest for power, whether by atheists or in the name of the church. |

Murder isn't only a moral issue, it's an action. Of course they can murder people.

There are a lot of social mores that have their basis in religious doctrine, but they are no less valid for atheists than believers. Society needs rules in order to function satisfactorily. I don't believe your example that "murder" requires adherence to religious beliefs in order to have validity.
I'm sure our resident legal scholars can weigh in on this issue with some food for thought.

So that means that killing somebody in the name of "God" is not murder?
I have a big problem with that website. Atheism is NOT a religion or cult! Calling Atheism a religion is like calling bald a hair color. HOWEVER, the 10 myths and 10 truths about atheism is a VERY good section and I strongly suggest that everyone read it. |

I think someone's predudice is showing.
There are a variety of definitions of what is "religion". Some say it is simply a set of beliefs. Under that definition. "atheism" is most certainly a religion. Atheism is a set of beliefs that actually guides or even controls the actions of its adherents. Sounds like a religion to me.

You are incorrect, atheism is not a belief it is the lack of belief.
