I have no idea. But since when do you care? They are TSA people and you'd want them dead anyways.

In airports, it's usually a walkaround and a patdown and shoe inspection right in the screening area.I have no problem with prefilght flight screening. Dem's da rules. Don't like them? Charter your own plane, take the farkin train or drive. |

(a) accident - i.e. they were incompetent (thank G-d) (b) good police work - read: infiltration of terrorist cells (c) vigilant passengers Something like 9/11 can't happen again because the passengers would rip the b@lls of anyone who tried out of their scrotum. The screenings and paper checks are security theatre at its worst. We need more smart, well-trained cops who can blend in to terrorist cells, better border security so that terrorists can't get into the country, and stiffer penalties for terrorists. If they consider themselves at war, that's fine. Penalty for sabotage during wartime is death by firing squad -- make sure to dip the bullets in pig grease before use. I disagree. If they completely abolished security checks for commercial aviation and didn't check for guns/knives/bombs/whatever, I would be more willing to fly. Yes you might get a suicide bomber here and there, but from recent cases it looks like the enemy is running out of capable people willing to blow themselves up on a plane. As for hijacking attempts, those wouldn't go so well with a number of the passengers armed.

This being said, I'm not for guns on planes. Lots of stressed people (fear of flying, claustrophobia, nervousness about making connections) with guns means that "accidents" will happen. |

I don't agree with everything Obama says or does but blaming him for the TSA takes a very big stretch of the imagination since I don't think he formulates the rules or is directly sitting and watching them every day.

Yet you're OK with going to a restaurant or theatre where an unknown number of people might be strapping? Should we start requiring searches for all public places?
BTW - I'm not opposed to TSA security within reason. When it gets unreasonable (i.e. strip searches of old women, confiscation of bags with images of guns, "your papers please") then I start to have a problem with it. |

Or I might be packing too. Thing is, it is easier to run out of a restaurant or theater when something goes wrong than an airplane at 30000 feet.
