Arming schools, malls, theaters or what have you should be the last resort. By the time the person with a gun is in a school it is too late. The children are at risk.

We are no looking to give every one a nuke, we are seeking to prevent Iran from getting on as well as preventing the proliferation of nuke any farther than they are. By the time Iran gets a nuke its to late.

Same with guns. By the time the gun man is in the school or near the school or has a gun its too late. So the school is armed. The gun man finds another target of opportunity. Loss to a mall or a theater or where ever. Even if there are other armed people around a few people are going to die before someone figures out who is shooting. A few people draw their weapons and start shooting at people who have a gun.

Playing controls and restrictions on the purchase and distribution of weapons is not infringing on people rights and in a few generations perhaps we can start being the reduction of weapons in the hands of those who should not have them.
