After my inconvenience with the bladder stones I visited my surgeon yesterday after several weeks delay. He says it is fine and I can start doing some light weight exercising.

I'm off to the pool.

I just got referred to a rotator cuff specialist / orapedic surgeon.

The shoulder is doing well now. I am doing stuff to strengthen it now. My fitness is coming back too, walked two miles last two days. At my weakest I was unable to walk across the house without huffing.

The last two weeks I have exercised five days, swimming for 45 min m w and f, walking 2 miles in about 35 min on treadmill then lifting weights for shoulder strengthening. Feeling excellent and seldom is the shoulder even sore.

Sounding good Tom.

I have more stainless mesh custom fabricated plastic coated hose installed now than a hotrod flathead ford perhaps. This to make sure a discovered anurisim did not blow out.

It is a little over a month now since the operation. Although it tends to slow you down for a week or so at seventy one years of age.

The only restrictions on release where no lifting for five weeks and no sex till the doctor says okay. My wife will want me to follow the doctors orders hopefully.

What they did to me may be very expensive in the states. I hear rumours that the custom made plastic coated stainless mesh hoses are like new mercedes cars in cost there. The question in my mind is was the rest of my body unit worth spending this amount on?

There is no direct cost to me in Canada. There is still a cost shouldered by the taxpayers though. Plus my family in sales taxes paid dedicated to hospital costs. Nothing is free although I was not billed a cent or will be for anything.

One of the pre operative doctors told me some older enfeebled people decide that since it is a pretty easy death when it lets go. They decide not to have it repaired.

There are two ways to do the operation. One is more risky but does not require the expensive custom stainless mesh hoses and the recovery period is months rather than days. Also the chances of death from the other operation are statistically higher..

Assume this is an expensive procedure. At least nine people in the large room when they put me to sleep at eight in the morning and I only remember coming around at three in the afternoon . So I suspect maybe three to four hours perhaps for the operation.

The way mine was done there is no discomfort. They leave the spinal block fed by resupply for three days installed. You are also under general anesthetic as well during the operation.

So the only thing bad about the experience basically is the bad hospital food for the five days in there. Plus some scattered radiation skin burn from the equipment visualizing the hoses being fed in and secured. You could see the outlines of the mats placed to shield you from it as much as possible.

I have fully recovered pretty much and will ask the vascular surgeon when I see him on the 22 of May for a follow up. The details of doing that prostate blood flow reduction method you mentioned and let you know what he says.

There are four vascular surgeons at this local hospital. I do not believe they do common stent installation for heart attacks though. We have specialized heart attack people and places for that.

Well I just was cleaning out all the drawers on the computer desk. Time to go put all the remaining questionable saved stuff back into them.

Congrats on the stint. I am hoping I won't need anything like that for a while, but you never know. Yeah, if you find anything out about the prostrate thing let me know, please.

The need is usually only established because the problem lets go and the person dies. There are no symptoms usually. Most of the time like myself it is picked up only when the medical profession is looking for something else. The lower abdominal artery had enlarged to 6.5 cm or just under three inches in diameter in my case. Too large to just keep an eye on apparently in their opinion. The cost of the custom made parts to repair this are quite high I am told.

I read about the operation and thought it only required a couple of artery access points in the groin area on each side. When I woke up I had those small ones that I expected and one in my left armpit about two inches long. This surgeon is quite young and talkative. It will not surprise me if he is aware of this reducing blood flow to the prostate issue. I certainly will let you know what he tells me.

This morning I was exercising hard and made an awkward move with my left arm and heard a loud snap! I continued excercising for a while until I decided it was not a good idea. It does not feel the same as when the rotator cuff was torn but its pretty sore and some of the tender moves are the same. I hope I did not re-tear it.

Hopefully, it was just a "pop" -- the shoulder's version of cracking your knuckles. I had both of my shoulders done, about two years apart, 2010 (left) and 2012 (right). I really don't excercise hard, but when I do some activity, I get a pop-like sound occasionally. It will feel weird or odd, but so far it has been nothing.

Yeah....this does hurt. I am going to take another two allieves and ice it again this evening. I hope its nothing serious. I was just beginning to get some confidence in its soundness.

If you have a TENS unit, I would try that also. That is a great contraption.

I'd go to a chiropractor and see if he can help before any other Dr. They'll just recommend a pill and rotator cuff surgery like they did to someone I know after a body building related injury. Few years later, rotator cuff pain was alright after not stressing the shoulder and was back to lifting normal weight again.
