I take it you're comfortable with wrongfully executing the 4%?

4% is a lot of people. There are give or take a few 3,000 people on death row. 4% would be 120. That's a whole neighborhood block.

Unmolecular discomboobilators are less painful I thought. Maybe not as swift though.

There has to be a better way. Why not just anesthetize then bleed em out?

Nevermind the fact that the death penalty is far more expensive for tax payers than life imprisonment. More government waste.

They should just shoot them, its cheaper.

Why spend thousands when a .25 cent bullet will do the trick?

Exactly !! Bring back firing squads or hanging.

The appeals process in a capital punishment case is the expensive bit. Because of that pesky 4% error rate you end up with a lot of lawyers working over time on both sides for years and years. So unless you're using those 25 cent bullets to shoot both defense attorneys and state prosecutors, you're not going to fix the problem with a gun.

A .25 cent bullet would have to be a re-load at today's prices.
I've never known a veterinarian to screw up a euthanasia. Maybe the states ought to hire vets instead of doctors for these executions.

I'm sure it will never happen but I've read more than once that freezing to death is one of the least painful ways to die.

The guillotine was reliable but I'm guessing there are objections to having the corpse rendered into parts. The squirting blood would also bother people no doubt.

Apparently there's a big problem on getting effective drugs for human euthanasia/execution as pharma manufacturers more and more don't want their products used to intentionally kill people.

Thumbs up

I am 100%+ for the death penalty, regardless whether it goes smoothly or not. In fact, the bumpier the ride - all the better.

I wonder if you'd get agreement from the death row inmates cleared by that new fangled DNA testing . . . probably not.

There are many capital convictions based on "eye witness" testimony and even confession, which it turns out isn't the least bit accurate.
