Why not require annual qualification with a specific weapon for a concealed pistol license? This is already the law for police and security guards. Why should others who want to carry a handgun in public be held to a lower standard?

You can call me anything, but don't call me late for a meal. In her case WHO/WHAT has her calling me Larry? If she dodges it one more time, then the smell of a rat is not imaginary.
You dodge questions all the time. Why are you holding her to a different standard?

Annual renewal requires annual training.

FWIW, once per year is hardly enough, which is why when there's a cop shoot-out, everybody gets hit with something. If one is going to carry a gun the first thing is to do so safely. The second is to be effective. Being effective with a firearm requires a lot of training and that's putting bullets down range. No other way.

EXACTLY? If I were to meet a forum member for coffee and say that persons name was Robert. If I overheard someone else call him "Bob" I would ask him "may I call you Bob?" Common courtesy. Beyond the rudeness of her presuming that she may call me by a name other than what I post, WHERE did she come up with it?

If she will tell me why she knows so much about this forum in spite of her implication that she is new here AND will tell me who told her to call me Larry, she then might have the privilege of hearing me specifically state my opinions.

Everyone here should be curious about someone waltzing in here like God Almighty asking us about our specific opinions. She comes in here on her feminist high horse talking down to us? Others can be pleased and comfortable with that, but I've been around the block and made it to a few rodeos. When she gets off her high horse, answers my questions and shows common courtesy
I MIGHT continue responding to her posts.

All the above wording assumes that Ms. Saurus is indeed a woman as the person has claimed.

Okay, flak jacket is in place. I am ready for the rude insults that are sure to follow as they always do when I take on the rudeness of some of the fellow posters here.

Because he's a sexist that hates a black man as president and wants old people to die.

BTW, I have never dodged a question that directly concerns personal reference or common courtesy. I only ignore questions that are form the far fringes of the local LWNJ's. Why is she so afraid of answering such a benign question as why does she call me Larry? What is she hiding?

Sexist most definitely. Racists, not sure but I don't think so. Ageist, nothing to indicate that as far as I have read. Not sure how that has anything to do with Larry dodging questions on a regular basis.

Well that didn't last long. I remember ms. Saurus well over a year ago posting here, I can't tell if Larry is trying to be silly or if he is actually serious with this.

What about random calls for requal, ON AVERAGE once a year, with a week or two notice? This would encourage people not to let their training slip.

Most people could do with a stringent refresher driver course once per year.

But some things just ain't gonna happen.

Also I'm trying to figure out what is wrong with asking individual's opinions. Isn't that the whole point of a discussion forum?

There is an informal outdoor shoot nearby that I sometimes show up to. One of the guys who puts it on is a retired AZ DPS officer. His son is a Maricopa County Sheriff's deputy. The kid showed up one time with two of his MCSD buddies. I was frankly horrified at their 10 yard steel shooting scores. Imagining them at one of our monthly IDPA shoots -running, stooping, shooting behind cover at moving targets- is a truly scary picture.

As far as civilian concealed carry is concerned, it seems to me like annual qualification might be a step in the right direction. At least it might deter those gun-carriers who are only wearing their Glocks as fashion accessories. On the other hand, it seems like an enforcement nightmare.

No one would be taking guns away. Just requiring a level of proficiency before someone is allowed to carry a specific gun in public. If they want to keep the gun at home and shoot themselves in the foot, they'd be welcome to do so.

Please, let's not make this all about A&R again. This is the vortex we get sucked into far too frequently.

It doesn't hurt to ignore what we believe is an obnoxious post. Just say you're going to ignore it and why and then move on.

You know, like adults.
