Particularly when there are so many forum-established alternatives, such as Norm or Pastor Joe...

Why is she asking specific questions, while at the same time refusing to answer any? You can call me anything, but don't call me late for a meal. In her case WHO/WHAT has her calling me Larry? If she dodges it one more time, then the smell of a rat is not imaginary.

Or we could just call each other by the handles we have chosen. Would seem polite.

Why are some of you asking Ms. 'Saurus why she wants to know? The lady has taken a fairly liberal stance on a number of issues since starting here so it's not unreasonable to assume she may not be pro-gun. I find it refreshing to find someone who is actually asking for explanation. Quit being so defensive. jeepers.
I grew up around guns. Guns were and are tools. The notion of a gun being a sporting good item - like a tennis racket or catcher's mitt - sort of odd. I can't imagine not having guns. It'd be like not having feet, or ears, or something. I don't believe restrictions on kinds of weapons or round capacity do anything to stem gun violence. Those laws are mostly feel-good political moves. I'm not averse to background checks and would very much like to see straw purchases curtailed in some meaningful way. Who shouldn't own guns? Minors. I believe children should be educated early about firearms and encouraged to shoot. All my kids, now grown are accomplished shooters. One daughter carries concealed, the other keeps her weapons at home. Full rights to ownership and carry belong to adults. Certain convicts Those convicted of criminal charges involving a firearm, in my opinion, surrendered their rights for good when they chose to do a bad thing with a gun. How should this be enforced in places like my state where face to face private gun purchases without background checks are legal? Beats me. Certain mentally ill people In particular those who have been diagnosed specifically as being a potential danger to themselves or others. Again, how does this get implemented? I'm not that smart. The mall ninja types distress me greatly. The vast increase of I suspect poorly trained and inexperienced new gun owners who ran out to buy guns because they fell for yet another "they're gonna take away our guns" scare bother me. I fear there are a lot of hastily bought weapons in the hands and sadly on the hips of people who are not trained and who do not shoot on a regular basis.

What in the world are you talking about? We all call you Larry, what's she supposed to call you? Are you just upset because this thread hasn't ended up being about YOU?
