That should be the pressure switch that will trip the overboost protection valve if the manifold pressure exceeds 15 psi.

That kinda makes sense. My blower was acting funny. It was working fine, then it stopped, and a minute later it started again. Maybe the line was flopping around grounding itself out.

It's easy to test it..........and confirm the issue.

If that is a grounding switch for the blower motor, where would the water temperature sender unit be?

That one should be on the driver's side of the head, near cylinder #3 or so, IIRC.

Can anyone identify this part for me?

Had the wheel off of my 1985 Mercedes 300SD this weekend and noticed a wire was no longer attached to this part. This one is on the drivers side, attached to the back of the brake system. The brakes seem to work fine, but I can't for the life of me figure out what it is. Can anyone help the rookie mechanic?

Not sure but it has to be either ABS or pad wear indicator. If its ABS, you should be able to follow it to a wheel speed sensor, and if it's the wear indicator- there is a pin attached to the brake pad that grounds out against the rotor and causes a warning light to come on your dash when your pads are worn out.

Great thread!

Does anyone know why these holes are in the parcel shelf of my W123 300D sedan / saloon?
