It's fitted with a turbo 617 engine.

How are you measuring your times? I used video of the spedometer.

An SLR in its natural environment, take a look at what $4 a gallon gas buys them in the middle east.

My Jetta TDi wagon 5spd does it in like 11 or 12.
The 220d 4spd will do it in 27.5 according to Road & Track.

My times are in my signature. I still need to measure my van. I think with a little work on my 84 I can decrease that time. My 85 runs like a new car.

Just saw this thread. Purchased a new to me 1985 190D 2.2 last month and over the past weekend I set a new 0-60 time. Two days, six hours, 27 seconds! But in all honesty, I had the wind behind me and I was going down a slight downhill.

Car in the signature.

Mine was measured with a g-tech, 0-60 in 8.8 seconds and 16.7s@84.8mph. My clutch was shot though. This weekend I changed it and now need to try a new one. The funny thing though is that with the new clutch my car seems to spin the tires less.

Coming home this weekend I timed myself from a light in Jersey...0-60 in 17.3 seconds! And a big ol' cloud of smoke out the back.

I may have posted this earlier in the thread, but in case I didn't, here's an Excel spreadsheet that has a good number of the factory acceleraion specs:

http://www.w124performance.com/docs/mb/other/acceleration_specs.xls

Note that some factory specs are 0-55mph, some are 0-60mph, and some are 0-100kph (0-62.4 mph). In the mid-80's, when the USA still had that silly 55mph speed limit, the brochures had the 55mph specs. Later on they reverted back to 60mph. Across the pond they use 100kph, and this is also the spec used in the TDM (Tech Data Manual).

85 W201 turbodiesel 2.5 just about 12 seconds, can speed it up a little if you want to be mean to the Torque converter

76 W115 N/A 2.4L just under 19.5 seconds (soon to do it in the 5sec range)

both diesel runs done on flat surface, cold temps for air density - and a Gtech PRO RR

Mine is supposed to do it in 12 seconds. I haven't tried it yet because being new to MB, I am worried I will overstress something and not be able to fix it.
