MB 85 300TD

I've got a MB 85 300TD (3.0L 5 cyl) with about 305k miles + (odometer was working intermittently about 75% of the time when I purchased it - fixed now, but added 15k miles to estimate lost odo mileage from PO).

Stock GT3 turbo charger, adjusted to 10psi max. ALDA adjusted out to allow max flow at full throttle. Transmission bowden cable and vacuum have been adjusted.

Test runs at barometric pressure comparable to sea level, 80*F outside temperature, engine running at 90*C.

Below are times tested for a standstill start on level ground with no boost pressure built up, no manual shift control. as you can see, I need to adjust my bowden cable a bit more to optimize my shift timing to use the ranges with the most torque rather than hold the gears longer (2450 being the sweet spot from what I've seen and read).
60' -- 4.808s @ 24.76 mph
330' -- 10.31s @ 45.8 mph
1/8 mi -- 17.83s @ 56.27mph
1/4 mi -- 19.253s @ 58.8mph
0-20mph -- 5.80s
0-40mph -- 10.109s
0-60mph -- 19.45s

These times were tested from a standstill start on level ground, power braking and building up boost pressure to 8psi before starting. I burnt some mean rubber on the start and lost about a full second lol. Manual shift control was used (ie. "S" and "L" shifter positions). I think I can improve these times a bit once I'm more used to the way torque curve moves along the rpm axis (this is my first diesel).
60' -- 4.5s @ 24.05mph
330' -- 9.58s @ 40.51mph
1/8mi -- 14.42s @ 50.4mph
(I stopped accelerating when i hit the 60mph mark but didnt realize I hadn't yet gone 1/4 mi)
0-20mph -- 3.502s
0-40mph -- 9.288s
0-60mph -- 17.2s

MB specifies a 14 second 0-60mph acceleration for the 85 300TD brand new, though I'm not sure under what conditions (built boost, manual shift control, etc). I figure the old girl is doing pretty well to be only a few seconds behind that after nearly 30 years and over 300k miles. I'll be doing some adjustments in the near future and repost my improvements.

using a phone GPS app, so accuracy may be low and/or affected by GPS timer lag on updates. seems to be in the ballpark at least.
