im in the 100each/month for my excursion jeep and MB. the MB doesnt get all of the safety deductions like the excursion and jeep, so it balances out to the same. I tried a couple different companies and no real differences. florida is no fault so I would assume I would be a little cheaper elsewhere

I don't think bragging about insurance fraud on a public forum is a good idea.

I also have USAA, full coverage on the CD, and liability only on the SD, runs me $75 a month.

The more cars you have the cheaper it gets.
I have six vehicles insured and 2 teenage boys driving, and it costs me right at $3000 per year. I only have full coverage on the MB and a Lexus. But the 97 Yukon with no collision is the most expensive to insure. $650 for the year. I guess the heavier the vehicle is the more it costs. I have Nationwide with the house on it as well.

$400 for the year for full coverage.... 250/500 limits with 100 in property. Matching uninsured, with $500 comp and collision deductibles. I got glass deductible waiver, and K5.

I work for Farmers, and know how to play the number to make them more favorable.

For reference, a driver under the age of 25 in the UK, with no no-claims discount, a 500-1000 quid Excess (deductable) and for 'basic Third-Party insurance' will generally cost in the region of 3000-4000 Dollars Per year. Single vehicle, no options for 'multi-vehicle single policies'

We've always been screwed by the 'financial institutions' here....

Currently paying 1400 dollars--yearly--No 'Monthly' options in UK, for insurance 'fully-comp' (prob different to US policy) for a 81, 300D, Two Named Drivers, One over the age of 25 who is a 'learner driver'....

Is it a 'Requirement' by Law that you have Insurance to drive a vehicle in the US..? It is Mandatory here in the UK....

Most people here seem to be paying an awful lot. I pay $321 for six months for three cars, liability and uninsured motorist only, but with limits higher than state minimums.

Alastair, liability insurance is generally required by state law in most of the United States. I heard that it's not required in Alabama, and there may be other states that don't require it.

Here in Virginia, AFAIK, antique plates don't have any insurance rules.
The CD next year.
I have contacted Grundy, and another classic car insurer. Good prices, but far too many restrictions.

All currently licensed Virginia tags, regular and antique are required to carry insurance. Virginia has a random search, plus the insurance companies narc on you if you drop the policy.

They do NOT care what kind of insurance, I've had regular auto insurance on a car with antique plates, and I currently have Grundy insurance on my 560SEL which has standard plates....

I am paying in the neighborhood of $1100/yr for 4 daily drivers with Progressive. I am self-insuring against collision/comprehensive by having a backup 240D in case one of the W123s gets pronged.

Progressive offers a lot of interesting discounts. They give discounts if you have a graduate degree, I think and discounts for low odometer readings (which since we have 2 drivers for 4 cars, we get). How well they pay or service us is to be seen- I haven't had a claim in 30 years (knocks wood).

The rest of the fleet is either in drydock (no ins) or on American Collectors and rarely gets out.

Rick

You're right of course, you do need insurance. I failed to make clear, you don't need special insurance because you have antique plates. Sorry for the confusion.

24yo no speeding tickets, no accidents, my '81 300D full coverage is only $525/yr. What makes me happier is that it is going to drop $100 off when I turn 25
