If anyone knows of someone that pays $$ for them let me know and next time I'll sell!

If its knocking I'd probably just drive it slowly home. Pulling it with a rope with the other car is a possibility too. We did this with my dad's SD when the alternator locked up. I dragged it home 12 miles with my SD....no problems. A cop pulled us over to ask what we were up to, but let us go and said "be careful". We were only a few miles from home at that point.
They are only worth something if you need them.

I agree. I have gotten two rod knockers (two different engines)in the same car (Avatar photo), and drove the first at least 20 miles. As long as you keep the engine speed as low as possible, you may be able to drive it for many miles without a rod escaping the confines of the interior of the engine block.

And this is why my 300D lived through it's first tow home(20 scary miles being towed in neutral by a Silverado, me using only the cable brake after blowing the rear lines)

You can now tow the vehicle safely on a dolly at high speed.

This doesnt work on SECs or SELs for some reason as I havent been able to get the axels out But works well on 300 TDs and Ds W123 chasis.
it would be a whole lot easier to just undo the driveshaft

BTW, does this transmission rear pump exist in models later than the 123?
