A properly running engine does not shake at idle (none of ours do), and, my motor mounts are almost 5 years old and are still fine, despite not having the engine shock in place.

A related, but slightly different question to the crowd: how can I tell if the engine shocks on my car are good/bad.... is there a good test to figure out if they are worn or if they can be re-installed?!

If they resist in and out slow = they are good.

90% of the time it is the upper/lower mounts that go bad...
