I asked if I enclosed the carport by putting a garage door on if that would make the camaro legally stored, and he said I cannot make changes to the structure of my yard or house without a permit and I cannot get a permit until I'm in compliance with the city codes...
change the car port anyway and then worry about whatever fine there is for that- since he wants to bind you.

I've got stacks of subframes, diff's, steering boxes, interiors, climate control systems, SLS systems, everything I can... I need SOOO much more time to complete my goals.

so much help... solittle time...

I've pulled the IP and Transmission from the 85 block with the spun bearings... reorganized the engines on the shop floor to allow me room to store the VW, stripped the wagon engine of usefull parts (head, etc...) preparing to load the 86 C20 onto the hauler, and take another trip to the salvage yard...

Request

Can you give a simple count down total of all junk cars remaining each day?

10, 9, 8, etc..

To much focus on just the MB stuff, and not the total remaining.

Bet you don't even need a permit, in reality to put on the door on that three-sided carport. I would just feign ignorance that such a silly change would require a permit!!!!

I got the 85's transmission off the motor... did you guys know there is a retaining bolt to keep the torque converter from coming out of the bellhousing?
...
not fun removing the bolts to the TC from a engine hanging from a engine hoist...

Nope - you mean something more than that plastic lug in the bell housing and the bolts from torque converter to driven plate?

Photo please!

That's why I did it with the engine sitting on the ground... Much easier. I just put 4x4 under the trans to support it.

I took a photo, I'll post it when I have time. it's a large hex head bolt on the driver's side about the middle of the bellhousing area... only allows the TC to come off the input shaft about 10mm...

I had to raise the engine/trans up high enough to undoo the bolts to the TC from underneath... how'd you undo them with the combo sitting on the board?

for the actual seperation I set the engine on some steel dumbells, and put the transmission in a large baking sheet on a garage floor creeper, and pulled it apart.

Here are the only shots I have of it from that side...

These where taken right after taking the engine out, before setting it up on the 4x4's I took the bottom bolts out while I had it raised a little to put them on the 4x4s. I left a bolt in, raise everything up once more, and secured the transmission to an ATV jack, Something like this...

with the engine hanging from the hoist. It gave me an easy way to pull the 2 apart, and be able to roll the trans to the new engine. The ATV jack worked out great. I could raise or lower the trans to line it up correctly and aline with the leveler on my hoist, it made quick work of the whole process.
