You wouldn't necessarily. But in my situation, I wouldn't be doing my own work. So I would spend $130 for nozzles, $45-50 each for the rebuild at a reputable injector shop (what I was quoted today), and even then they couldn't guarantee them because I wasn't getting Bosch nozzles from them. So in my case I'd end up spending around $375 for a quality rebuild. I'm hoping new injectors might be about the same price or less.

Same reason you would want an entire engine instead of just pistons.

Like I said Bosch dominates the Market.

If you shop the various internet sellers a few years a go there were 2 selling complete new Injectors. In the Ad it will say not to mix them with the Bosch Injectors.

Mercedes 5ource is the only "authorized" retailer in the US for monark nozzles; i emailed Monark directly in Germany trying to find other retailers. they (Monark) said they will sell to individuals directly but only if you order over 1000 Euro (about $1300).

Did they give you a price per ? $1300 would go real quickly at $100 ea retail. 3 or 4 folks needing a set would get ya there.

Hopefully we'd get a bit of better deal than retail prices - probably not wholesale as in bulk wholesale...

I did a Google Image search for Monark Injectors for Mercedes and easily found one site that sold the brand nee Monark Injectors for $79+.
There also was some other internet Sellers several years ago that sold the same.

Someone out here in Buena Park (were I grew up) California is selling rebuilt ones on eBay. Search Monark Injectors.

Maybe, we could compile a list of people who want Monark Injectors and sort of do a group order? I know I want at least 4 for my 240 and possibly 6 more for my E300 (if they are made for the 606's) so... Like group order? Just a thought as I'm also on the hunt for these injectors

I can't drive with just pistons and not an entire engine but I can drive around with crappy old injectors. The reason for the question was because I genuinely didn't know and wonder if there's other things in the injector instead of just the nozzle that will necessitate entire replacement.

So, no it's not the same reason, but thanks for the failed attempt at humor or snark whichever it was.

I didn't ask for a price; i'm assuming they would be rather cheap since they are direct from the factory and no VAT. now i do have some information from a friend in germany that said Monark products are no longer made in Germany but are sourced out to other companies throughout the world (he's working on getting 100% proof on this). my friend also said that he might be able to source some NOS 265 nozzles that were made in germany (not bosch or Monark, some other small german company). he's supposed to send me a set and i'll try em out on my SD and let ya'll know

Someone could write Mercedes sorc and ask them if the Monark Nozzles they sell are made in Germany.
3-4 Years ago when I bought Monark Nozzles they were made in Germany.

The probloem with buying a large amount of Nozzles is that they go through Coustoms. I guess that means there is some Customs Duty.
I can also remembe C Sean Watts PMing me years ago that he had a bunch of Nozzles held up in Customs. This means you may not know what the exact delivery day is going to be.

You might want to review the question that you actually asked, which evidently is different from the one that you imagine that you asked.

"Just nozzles" won't work any better than "just pistons."
