Opinion? what is the best Ultrasonic Cleaner for injectors - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

Both of mine died:
* Stopped working.
* The casing disintegrated from garage chemical exposure.

Here is what I am considering at the moment.

This is the one I have...

Ultrasonic Cleaner - 2.5 Liter

A little bit more pricey than the HF one you linked but it's larger and works nicely. I did all five of my injectors with it and it worked great. I put some gas in a small container and then floated that in water in the ultrasonic cleaner. Didn't want to put fuel in the ultrasonic cleaner in case my wife wants to clean her rings or something.

I used a small brush and some gas to brush them off a little bit then let the ultrasonic cleaner do the rest.

I had the Smallest Harbor Freight Ultrasonic Cleaner and it worked but after about 4 years the circuit that is in the lid Hinge area had issues. I have never tried to fix it.

I bought the next Larger Harbor Freight Ultasonic Cleaner and it also works but I have used it to clean other Parts and find I wish it was bigger. However, if you want a larger Cleaner the Price jumps way higher.

I have been useing Water and something like Purple Power as the Cleaning Solution.

Go for the gusto and make your own 600W ultrasonic cleaner (5-7 gallons).

10x 60W transducers @40Hz with 600W generator. Costs around $450 USD for the parts and shipping thru Ultrasonic Cleaners*|*Beijing Ultrasonic You will need a 1-2mm (max) ss tank. Hit the scrap yards. Making mine right now. News at 11 ...

In ultrasonic cleaning you need to consider the size of the parts you are trying to clean / the size of the detailed bits on the part you are trying to clean. If you are trying to clean inside small crevices for example you need to be using higher frequencies. It isn't just about the power rating.

The above is true, but 40 Hz is the generally accepted transducer sound wave. Look at the players who make these contraptions, and 40Hz is their rating. You can get different transducers, EG, 28Hz, 40Hz, et cet., but you will need a generator which sweeps thru the frequencies. That type of generator costs a fortune. The real key is the power. The HF you are looking at is no more than a "nominal" 35Watt. Compare that against a real 600W and apply the 1 gallon of liquid for every 100Watts of mojo.

i've been using the HFT one for some years now, the basket melted after 1st use, but it works as intended without it. gets everything very clean. i wish the stainless steel bowl would extend all the way up to the top since that plastic area is starting to melt as well

Or, in different words..........if the nozzle is replaced, is that process sufficient to fully recondition the injector or does the body also require some type of ultrasonic cleaning?

I imagine it's not a bad idea to clean everything. Think about how hot the injectors get, and the couple thousand of gallons of fuel that are pushed through in their lifetime. I imagine that some kind of glazing would build up at least.

Yes, the entire injector and its contents need to be cleaned for a complete job. Even after you ultrasonic clean it, you should blast it with compressed air. Keep in mind that one little spec of dirt can screw up the injector which will neccesitate a re-do.
