Im not sure how to approach the gearing for that rearend ,it looks like thats when they started scratching their heads on this one ,3 ft from flr to tires highest point ,its radical but a treaded tire with 2o" semi rims would look justt as mean and much more streetable,to gear it wouldnt be a road block either .

odds are good it's already got an IH motor attached to the transaxle... I did not see that last pic... crazy... there is a diff in this thing. WTF did it start out as?

oh, I'm sure you can get trans gearing to compensate, but the diff is STILL gonna have to turn that mass... and the semi-float 14bolt he's got there is JUNK for strength... without short enough gears, it'll fail very rapidly...

OM617??? I was thinking more along the lines of Detroit Diesel.
Dad probably saw a some pics, or a project writeup in a magazine of something done by a pro and tried to duplicate. Overall a waste of what was probably a pretty intact old 2-ton or similar....
