I am not what the deal is with that. They are all the same size. They are laser cut, so I doubt you got one a different size. If you could take a photo, I can get a better idea of what is going on.....Rich

I'm having the same problem with my 82 240D. The disk won't stay centered and the clamp doesn't catch it all the way around. I think I'm gonna try to hold it in place with some electrical tape and then put the clamp on it. Or maybe some gasket maker.

Is there an easy way to test for leaks after installing? On gassers spraying carb cleaner works. What about diesels without vacuum?

Do you perhaps have blank off plates for older V8 Benz motors like 450 SEL?

OK please see attached for a pic of the actual gasket.

The approximate measurements:
Between the centre points of the mounting holes: 66mm
Longest distance (at outside point of the mounting holes): 73 mm
Shortest distance, outer edge of "top" and "bottom": 44mm

Hope this makes sense

Electrical tape didn't work. I dropped the disk and it rolled away somewhere, I couldn't find it. So I removed the EGR tube from the EGR, then I cut a piece of sheet metal (like HVAC ductwork metal) into a round disk that fit into the fluted end of the EGR tube to block it. Then I bolted the EGR tube with the disk inside it back onto the manifold. That worked fine. I'm thinking about taking it back apart, cutting the end off the tube, and reinstalling that, but who knows, maybe I'll skip it. I'm just concerned about water getting into the tube and rusting it out. But I probably won't have the car that many years anyway lol.
