A desert is only defined by the lack of water, not temperature. There are cold deserts, which include Siberia and Antarctica. The latter has a flowing river, from a unfrozen lake to the ocean, F.Y.I..

In Arizona, the higher elevation desert gets snow. Phoenix Valley is about the lowest in Arizona and only last year did we get snow (I was in class so missed it, so once again this 26 year old has never been in falling snow). Flagstaff is between me and cooljjay and it is always cold. Also, cooljjay is basically in Colorado.

If anyone thinks we don't get rain, come during our monsoon season! We can get a foot of rain in an hour! So I would think that be more a test than an inch every day for weeks on end: not the same G.P.H. rate.

Oh no it isn't and oh no it wasn't. Me and the missus were up at Flag and the Canyon this weekend and it was in the mid 90's with no relief from the sun. Phoenix it ain't but cold it wasn't either.

I think a desert is better described as a lack of vegetation growing... Temps and odd sporadic rainfall do not provide the conditions for base vegetation...

Changed the oil and filter, fuel, filters, and some fuel, lines just now. I bought a new battery and put 3 gallons of fresh fuel in the tank and tried to prime it. The primer is shot. It leaked a ton of fuel and I don't think it primed but I cranked with the injector hard lines cracked and they were getting fuel.

Well still no start. What should I do next? Pull and rebuild the injectors?

Back to Joe's thread.. Go debate the Uro stuff somewhere else.
Is it even trying, with any puffs of smoke out the back? Does it act like it's catching on any cylinder? An unorthodox method might be to remove an injector, swivel the hard line around to where the injector is facing into a can or something, crank it and see if you get a spray out of it. You'll need another crush washer if you do this, but it's worth a shot. Unless you have a pop tester. You can get it going Joe..

No smoke which I find odd and it doesn't sound like it wants to kick over.

Fix the primer pump and go from there....there is a easy way to fix the primer until you get a new one. Take a condom and stretch over the old primer, and then crack the hard lines....once you get fuel showing up....start the cranking...

Does the condom have to be ribbed for her pleasure or ultra thin? Got a part #?

I'm going order a new one along with some other parts. I could have sworn I had a good used one in my parts bin. I also could have swapped the one from my 300D that was sitting next to it....but I was lazy.

I do wonder if the injectors need to be cleaned.

Bought a new primer pump, 3mm fuel lines, injector heat shields, marvel myster oil, and a bottle of diesel purge.

I am going to pull the hard lines off and then remove the injectors and put 1/4 cup of MMO in each cylinder and let them soak for a few days and see if that will improve the car. I bet the rings are stuck since its been sitting for 20 years, hope trying to start it a few times didn't damage anything.

wish me luck!

injectors pulled and MMO put into the cylinders, All but #4 sucked it down. #4 took about 5 minutes to drain into the cylinder. I hope it works.

You should have the air filter off and a large wad of rag at the ready when you're doing this, that engine may eventually get enough compression in a couple cylinders to fire off and when it does if the rings are stuck it can very easily and quickly start dieseling on the crankcase oil and run away on you!

I had a similar situation and the only way to stop it is to cut off the air supply, the engine I was fooling with could be throttled using a large wad of rag restricting the air intake.

I was going to ask if you had done a compression test.
